TRENTON, SC - Mrs. Mary Frances Booth, 82, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at a hospital in Augusta, GA. She was a loving mother and cherished wife of Eddie D. Booth, with whom she shared 63 wonderful years of marriage.
Mary was born in Summerville, SC, the daughter of the late Henry G. Driggers and Dora Smith Driggers.
After graduating from Summerville High School in 1960, she took X-ray training at St Francis Hospital in Charleston, SC and began a rewarding 50-year career as a Radiologic Technologist.
She and Eddie married in 1961 and together they raised two daughters. Over the years, they made a home in many places including Augusta, GA, Moncks Corner, SC, Naperville, IL, Lilburn (Atlanta), GA, and Emporia, KS, finally settling in Trenton, SC, at the Twin Lakes Fly-In Community.
Her greatest joy was flying “right seat” with Eddie in their Cessna 170B and Vans RV-7 aircraft (and the travel camper, too). They traveled all over the U.S. and Canada, coast-to-coast and even Alaska, Yellowknife, N.W.T., Australia, and New Zealand, with many wonderful and special friends.
Mary is survived by her husband, Eddie D. Booth; two daughters, Michelle A. (Terry) Brigman (Myrtle Beach, SC) and Angela M. (Christopher) Anderson (Houston, TX); and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Melvin L. Driggers and Randolph W. Driggers.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 14 at 10:00 AM at Shellhouse Funeral Home on Hayne Ave with a Celebration of Life service following at 11:00. The interment will take place at 3:30 PM in Summerville Cemetery, 1330 Boone Hill Rd, Summerville, SC 29483.
