Mathew A. Wyckoff

Mathew Allen Wyckoff, 37, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2024, after an extended illness.

Mat was born in Germany, son of Lawrence Allen Wyckoff and the late Baerbel Ruhs Wyckoff. He was a former volunteer fireman for the New Ellenton Fire Department, and most recently a Paramedic at Chester County EMS in Rock Hill, SC. Mat began his EMS career in 2009 in Aiken County where he spent majority of his life before moving to Rock Hill in 2021. Growing up in New Ellenton, SC, Mat was a beloved soul with many friends that he loved and adored that become his family. He took care of his younger sister and brother when their mother passed away in 2009. Mat will be remembered for his wit and sarcastic sense of humor, along with his tough exterior that stole the hearts of anyone that got to know his heart of gold.

In addition to his father, Mat is survived by his sister, Samantha (Josh) Leonard, Graniteville; his brother, Andrew Wyckoff, Graniteville; half-brother, Nicky (Anne) Skerstupp; and nephews, Jaxson Leonard, Ryan Leonard, and Kevin Skerstupp.

A Celebration of Life for Mat will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Talatha Baptist Church in Aiken, SC. Guests who wish to attend, may participate in a procession that will start at 12:30pm at the New Ellenton Fire Department Headquarters and end at Talatha Baptist Church where the Funeral Service will be held.
