Matthew "Matt" Beecher Fry

AIKEN, SC – MATTHEW BEECHER “MATT” FRY, 58, beloved husband of Mary Ann McLean Fry, passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at his residence after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Born in Groton, CT and a native of Bethesda, MD, Matt was a son of Tanya O’Jeda Fry and the late John Craig Fry, Sr. He was a graduate of the Lawrenceville School, Princeton, NJ and a 1981 graduate of The University of South Carolina, Columbia, with a BS in Business Administration. He was a vice-president / internal audit manager of Security Federal Bank. He was a member of Aiken’s First Baptist Church. Survivors, in addition to his wife Mary Ann and mother, Tanya, include a daughter, Haley Alexandra Fry, Aiken; two sons, Christopher Matthew Fry (Fiancée Sarah Schoffman) and Nicholas Beecher Fry, both of Charlotte, NC; two brothers, John Craig Fry, Jr. (Robin), Gig Harbor, WA, David Chase Fry, Aiken; beloved sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Debra Lynn McLean Murphy (Andrew), Kathy Marcelle McLean, Fred Douglas McLean, all of Aiken, Karin Fry, Darien, CT; nieces and nephews, Jennifer Yeager (Merritt), Melissa Nation, Ryan Murphy, Matthew O’Jeda Fry, Kirsten Fry; great-nieces and nephews, Isabella Yeager, Emi Yeager, Jack Nation. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, August 10th from 6 until 8 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Friday morning at 11 o’clock at Aiken’s First Baptist Church with The Rev. Dr. Fred W. Andrea III officiating. Interment will follow in Historic Bethany Cemetery.
