Melanie Jane McDougal

AIKEN, SC - Melanie Jane McDougal, 54, entered into eternal rest on January 6, 2022. A lifelong resident of Aiken, SC. Melanie loved spending time with her daughter, grandsons, and her mom and dad on the family farm.

Melanie was always happiest out at the farm surrounded by animals which she loved so dearly. Melanie’s favorite pastime was riding horses and taking her great-niece, Ava Burnette, on trail rides. Melanie loved all animals; she took care of them like they were her children. She had a big heart with lots of love to give. Her smile and laugh were contagious. She will always be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.

Melanie was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth McDougal. Others left to cherish her memories include her parents Jack and Jane McDougal; two brothers, Barry (Michelle) McDougal, and Joey McDougal; a sister, Jenny McDougal Burnette; her daughter, Amy (Chris) Walton; three grandsons, Kamdon Walton, Emry Walton, and Jamison Walton; nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM Friday, January 14, 2022 at Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home, Inc. The funeral will be held at 2:00 PM with interment to follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens.
