It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michael A. Mothkovich on Sunday, January 12, 2025. Born in Rockford, Illinois, Michael was the beloved son of Ruth Garrison and John Edward Mothkovich.

Michael was a man of exceptional character, known for his unwavering dedication to his family and his kindness to all who knew him. A loyal and devoted husband, he shared 53 wonderful years of marriage with his loving wife, Frances. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

As a father, Michael was a source of strength and guidance for his three children, always ensuring they had everything they needed. He was predeceased by his eldest son, Michael, and is survived by his two sons, Sean (Jamie) and Troy. Michael’s steadfast support and encouragement were constants in the lives of his family, and his legacy of love and dependability will endure.

Michael retired from Pepperidge Farm after 25 years of dedicated service. He approached his work and life with a can-do attitude, never one to complain, no matter the challenge. Known for his willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, Michael was a man of quiet generosity and boundless compassion.

He found great joy in the outdoors and remained a kid at heart throughout his life. His love for animals, particularly his cherished cat, reflected his gentle and caring nature.

Michael is also survived by his brothers, Russell (Christine) Mothkovich and David (Jeri) Mothkovich; his sisters, Diana (Jim) Shorter, Danette Schulz, and Gail "Chris" Griffin; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Carol Rall, John Edward, Gregory Joel, and Stephen.

Michael’s life was a testament to hard work, love, and generosity. He will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests honoring Michael’s memory by donating to a charity of your choice, continuing his legacy of helping others.
