Michael Giles Buckley

AIKEN - Michael Giles Buckley, 70, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2018 surrounded by family. He was born in Charleston, W.Va, a son of the late Alvin F. and Relda Summers Buckley and attended high school in Ripley, W.Va, where he met his first wife, Wilma Kuhn. Shortly after high school, he enlisted in the Navy and was stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. Settling in Akron, Ohio, he spent most of his career as a transportation supervisor for Wonder Bread. He was also a graduate of Stark State College. He is preceded in death by his wife, Kasandra Jean Buckley and is survived by his two sons, Michael William Buckley of Brooklyn, NY, Edwin "Ed" Buckley of Aiken, SC, a daughter, Cindy McDuffie, and a step-son Lance McGarr of Columbus, OH, as well as seven grandchildren. A graveside service will be held Thursday March 15 at 2 pm in Historic Bethany Cemetery with Chaplain Dexter Lambert officiating.
