AIKEN, SC – MICHAEL LEHE CROSBY, 73, beloved husband of Kathleen Frampton Crosby, passed away Tuesday August 2, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
A native of Walterboro and Edisto Island, SC, Mike was a son of the late Christopher von Lehe Crosby and Ruby Doris Hiott Crosby. He served the United States Army and was wounded in Vietnam. Mike was medically retired from the Army and was the awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. After the Army, Mike worked as a tugboat captain for Stevens Towing in Yonges Island, SC. He then spent 27 years with Military Sealift Command at the Navy Yard in Washington, DC. He lived in Aiken since 2011. He was a member of Edisto Island Presbyterian Church.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 45 years, Kathleen, are his son, Michael Lehe Crosby II (Yeliz), Monroe, NC and England; his daughter, Lindsay A. Crosby, Edisto Island, SC; two sisters, Linda Woods (Ben), Edisto Island, Christine Wolfe, Aiken; nephew, Tony Tavel; nieces, Angela Evans, Samantha Flaten, Kelly Hyatt; a number of great-nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Mike’s Life will be held Tuesday afternoon, August 23rd at 2 o'clock at The Presbyterian Church on Edisto Island with military honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society (cancer.org) or to the American Heart Association (heart.org).
