MICHELE COLLINS, 70, beloved wife of Kevin J. Collins, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, January 21, 2025, in her home. It is understandable that her heart gave out after giving it to so many others for so long. She exemplified a servant attitude.
A visitation viewing will be conducted at 2pm on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral home at 715 East Pine Log Road, Aiken SC 29803. The viewing will be followed by a Chapel service at 3pm presided by Pastor Steve Taylor. A graveside service will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, 4524 Whiskey Road, Aiken SC 29803.
Michele Collins was preceded in death by her mother Mary Dellio Dimura, Father Frank Dimura, brother-in law Dennis Collins and Dave Randle, and sister-in-law Linda Randle and Anne Collins.
Michele is survived by her husband Kevin Collins of Aiken, SC, son Andrew Rocco and wife Millicent of Charlotte, NC, daughter Lauren Morley and husband Dan Morley, of Saratoga, NY, two sisters Lisa Hoefer of Cohoes, NY, Patty Diagneault and husband William of Latham, NY, two brothers John Dimura and wife Kelly of Clifton Park, NY, and Frank Dimura and wife Jackie of Sherrills Ford, NC, step sons Austin Collins and wife Brittaney of Aiken SC, and Philip Collins, Alcoa Tn, and Katie Collins Peachtree City, Ga. Ex-husband Tommy Rocco of Watervliet also survives her, NY, sister- and brother-in-law Patrick Collins, Kathleen Wallace, Nancy Feole, George Feole, Gail and Willie Weaver, Joyce and Danny Conte, and Karen Savary.
She long cherished every moment with her grandchildren Raiden Collins, Clarke Collins, Connley Collins, and Taylor Morley who made her world complete and who would call her “Gammy.” She loved the saying, “when God made my grandchildren, he was just showing off.” She prized time with husband Kevin, enjoyed traveling to most of the US and nine countries, as well as meeting new friends. She sought ways to give back to those in need supporting ACTS of Aiken, women crisis pregnancy center Life Choice, hospice, Salvation Army, Christ Central, Golden Harvest Food Bank, and others that support the homeless and those in need. She had many long-lasting friends including her best Friend Joanne Hudy of Latham NY. People noted her positiveness and encouraging sayings that she would routinely post on multiple social media sites. She will be missed by many. She also had a special place in her heart for niece Dina Hoefer who embodied the helping and loving spirit Michele exemplified.
May God send us her replacement soon.
