Harold (Mike) McCoy, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather went home to be with the Lord on August 29, 2024. He was surrounded by his wife Sandy - the love of his life - and daughters, Chris and Holly.

Mike was born June 27, 1948 in Williamson, WV to the late Ernest and Marjorie (Johnson) McCoy. He spent his early years in Toler, KY and later in Indiana, where Mike developed a love for golf. After graduating from Huntertown High School, he enlisted in the Air Force (AF) and later graduated from OTS and was commissioned an Officer. Post Commission, Mike attended Purdue University at Indiana and received his Masters Degree.

1976 had Mike welcoming a daughter, Christina, with his late wife Marcia Richards and they traveled both stateside and abroad with the AF.

In 1991, Mike married Sandy Riesz and shortly after, retired from 20 years of service from the AF, as a Major. Post retirement from the AF, Mike went to work for Parsons, on the “Big Dig” project in Boston, MA as a Senior Project Engineer.

Together, they decided to move to Aiken, SC and both work for Savannah River Site, where Mike was a Senior Engineer for a contractor and officially retired in 2012.

He loved playing with the Cedar Creek Golf Club, “CHI-WA-WA.” If you didn't find Mike at home, he was on the golf course or being the family “baby whisperer.” He also had a passion for model railroading and all things Disney.

He leaves, to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 33 years, Sandra McCoy, daughters Christina Sell (Travis) of Iowa, Holly Kuntz (Nathan) of Maryland, Jennifer Garon (Matt) of Ohio, 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, sister Pat Waters of Indiana, several cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and other family members.
