AIKEN - Mitzi Kaye Guilott passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 19, 2018 after five and a half years of battling breast cancer. She was 60 years old.
Born in Coral Gables, Florida in 1957, she came to Aiken in October of 1990. She worked at Dillard’s in the Men’s Department for seven years. She enjoyed spending her time gardening, sewing and studying genealogy.
She was preceded in death by her parents James and Betty Joe (Menendez) Pickering and older brother Joe Pickering.
She is survived by her daughter Katie (Cameron) Smith, one grandson, sister Donna Glidewell, brother Jim Pickering (Susan Chaples) and cousin Jim Johnson.
The family wishes to express thanks to her doctors, nurses, Pepper Hill Nursing and Rehab Center, Regency Hospice and members of the Aiken and Coker Springs Wards of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for their years of compassionate service.
In memory of Mitzi, a viewing will be held from 9:30-10:30am with services commencing at 10:30am Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at the Aiken Chapel, 358 East Pine Log Road Aiken, South Carolina 29803. Interment will immediately follow at the Bethany Cemetery.
