AIKEN, SC – OLLIE KIRKLAND BRACEWELL, 89, died Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Madison Heights, Evans, GA.
A native of Saluda, SC, Ollie was a daughter of the late Henry Lee Kirkland and Cora Hastings Kirkland. She graduated from Saluda High School and retired from Graniteville Company. She was a member of Highland Pines Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Gail Collins, Wanda Hayford (Gordon), all of Aiken; six grandchildren, Matthew Turner (Stephanie), North Augusta, SC, Daniel Turner, Aiken, Kelsey Bruner (Pierce), Graniteville, SC, Samantha Hayford, Boston, MA, Nathaniel Hayford, Raleigh, NC, Lt. JG Benjamin Hayford, Corpus Christi, TX; two great-grandchildren, Caylin Difranco, Macie Bruner; two sisters, Lonnie Hutto (Harold), Aiken, Joyce Simpson, Starr, SC.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ronald E. Bracewell; four sisters, Henrietta Holladay, Dorothy Burris, Sandra Harrison, Emma Sue Kirkland.
The family would like to offer special thanks to the staffs of Pruitt Hospice of Augusta; Madison Heights of Evans; Ms. Kaffie Walker and Ms. Yudell Clarkson for their compassionate care.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday morning, October 13th at 11 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home with Mark Turner and The Rev. Wesley Greene officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service at Newberry Hall, 117 Newberry St., SW, Aiken, SC 29801.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Aiken SPCA Albrecht Center for Animal Welfare (www.letlovelive), Highland Pines Baptist Church or Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org).
