AIKEN, SC - Mr. Paul Lemuel Caldwell, 89, beloved husband of Kathern M. Caldwell (Hunter) passed away Saturday, December 2, 2022 at Anchor Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. The family will receive friends from 5:00-6:00 PM Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home. A memorial service with military honors will follow at 6:00 PM. Born in Moundsville, WV, Mr. Caldwell was the son of the late Linzy and Mabel Leach Caldwell. He served in the US Army and was a retired Chemical Operator. After retirement, he drove the senior citizens van and was an active member of the Marshall County Senior Center. He was a member of Calvary Methodist Church and after relocating to Aiken he was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, golfing and camping. He was an avid Steelers and Mountaineer football fan. Survivors in addition to his wife include two daughters, Pamela (William) Aaron, Paula (Jason) DeJong; two grandchildren, Karson (Rachel) Welty, Gavin DeJong; three great-grandchildren, Leif, Lily and Liberty Welty all of Aiken; a sister, Mary Margaret (Bob) Ryan, and three nieces Karen, Connie, and Robin of Moundsville, WV.
