Mr. Wyatt went to be with the Lord Thursday, December 5, 2024. He was a resident of Trenton, SC.
He was born in Abingdon, Virgina on January 17, 1940. He was the youngest son of six children of the late Clint Wyatt and Martha Gwin Wyatt of Bristol, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 yrs Ellen L. Wyatt.
His surviving loving family consist of his sons; Paul D. Wyatt Jr. of North Augusta SC and Roger C. Wyatt Sr. (Laurie) of Graniteville SC. Daughter; Cynthia G. Coyle (Michael) of Trenton SC and a stepdaughter; Lynn Sexton Clark (James) of Jackson, Tennessee; 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
As a young man he loved to race cars and did so at the Bristol International Speedway, he also owned and trained racehorses at Detroit Race Course “DRC” In Detroit, Michigan. He loved to fly in his private twin engine aircraft. He served in the United Sates Army and Airforce. Later in life he became a successful General Contractor for 50 years, whereas he owned several commercial construction companies, the last company was Wyatt & Wyatt Construction Co. Inc. of Graniteville, SC.
Throughout his life he was an inventor constantly thinking of new innovations and was a very accomplished and smart man. He was known by some as “Big Daddy”. He was loved very much by his close family and friends and will be greatly missed.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, December 12, 2024, in the Shellhouse Funeral Home chapel, with the Reverend Brandon Key officiating. Interment will follow in Bethany Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Michael E. Coyle, John M. Laster, Cecil T. Laster IV, Paul D. Wyatt III, David J. Padgett, and Christopher N. Walker. Honorary pallbearer will be Tim F. Smith.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM, Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at SHELLHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 924 HAYNE AVE., AIKEN, SC
