Pauline “Polly” Holmberg Walker of Aiken, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2025, at Jewish Healthcare in Worcester, Massachusetts, surrounded by her beloved children.
Polly was born and raised in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania, the second youngest of ten children born to John and Pauline Holmberg.
After marrying her high school sweetheart, Thomas Clyde Walker, Jr., Polly and Tom began their life together in Wilmington, Delaware, where they welcomed their three children: Jennifer, Alison, and Thomas. In 1974, the family relocated to South Carolina, where they built a loving home rooted in faith and family.
A devout Christian, Polly’s spiritual foundation began in her early years through active involvement with the Salvation Army. Throughout her life, she continued to serve through church ministries as a Junior Choir Director, Sunday School Teacher, Bible study leader, and Prayer Counselor. Her deep and personal relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, was evident in everything she did. Polly was also known for her God-given gift of song, which she used to share her faith and inspire others—her voice now joins the choir of saints in Heaven.
Polly had a passion for interior decorating and collecting original artwork. Though she was a licensed practical nurse by training, she chose to be a devoted stay-at-home mother. Her greatest pride was in her children and the lives they have built, each grounded in the Christian values she so deeply cherished.
She remained a steadfast supporter of the local Republican Party and strongly held to the pro-life platform it represented.
Polly is now reunited with her beloved husband, Tom, who preceded her in death. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and prayer, having touched countless lives with her heartfelt prayers, faith and ministry.
