Peggy Louise Robinette Piesch

April 18, 1933 — August 29, 2018

Aiken – Mrs. Peggy Louise Robinette Piesch, 85, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2018. Mrs. Piesch was born in Kannapolis, NC on April 18, 1933.  She was the wife of the late William A. Piesch and the only child of the late D.T. and Althea Robinette.  She has lived the last 50+ years in Aiken, SC.  She was a member of Millbrook Baptist Church, the Lydia Sunday School class and for many years she had been a faithful soprano in the Adult Choir.  Singing in The Living Christmas Tree and more recent, the Christmas Choir Drama were a real joy to her and something she always looked forward to.  Peggy was a volunteer in the church office and in the past had served as pianist for several of the Children’s Choirs.  She was a past Church Organist for Foreman Memorial Baptist Church in New Ellenton and for St. Paul Lutheran Church when it was located in downtown Aiken.  For several years she was the pianist for the Youth Choir at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.  Music has been a very large part of Peggy’s life since she started piano lessons at age four. Peggy worked in the medical office of Aiken Internal Medicine for approximately 15 years and prior to that, worked as a lab tech at the Aiken Regional Medical Center.  In 1987, she opened the Peach Tree of Aiken in its first location at the Country Store Shopping Center and later expanded to the Centre South Shopping Center for a total of 25 years. Peggy was a breast cancer survivor and very dear to her heart was the Pink Ribbonettes, a breast cancer survivor support group here in Aiken, which she was very active in since 1995.  She also worked with the American Cancer Society’s Reach to Recovery Program and had volunteered for several years at the Aiken Cancer Center.  For many years she was involved with the Alzheimer’s Association educating herself as much as possible and trying to make life better as caregiver for her mother, and later her husband, Bill, who suffered from this terrible disease. Peggy loved her family, her friends, her church, cooking, music, animals and shopping.  She had a contagious laugh and always a smile for everyone.  She truly had a happy heart.  She is once again with her husband Bill, her Mama and Daddy, her daughter Reushe, her granddaughter Whitney Harley, and best of all, in the presence of Jesus her Savior! Peggy is survived by her three children, Timothy Piesch, Alison Piesch, both from the Aiken area and Tracey P. Gronde (the late Jeff) of Myrtle Beach, SC; five grandchildren, Natalie Harley, Jeremy (Emily) Harley, Nick Gronde, Casey (Natasha) Gronde. Taylor Gronde; three great grandchildren, Katelyn Harley, Jackson Ronald Harley, and William Quinton Harley. The burial will be private for the family.  The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 PM, and a “Praise and Worship” Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Millbrook Baptist Church with the Reverend Bill Howard, III officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Pink Ribbonettes. Donations may be made to the Pink Ribbonettes, P.O.
