Phyllis Ahrens Campbell

October 13, 1929 — February 19, 2021

Aiken – Phyllis Ahrens Campbell, 91, passed away Friday, February 19, 2021.

Mrs. Campbell was born in York, PA,  the daughter of the late Lewis and Pansy Frey Ahrens.  She was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church and active with St. John's Circle.  Phyllis enjoyed her years of involvement as a member and officer of the Business and Professional Women’s Club as well as the Aiken Jaycee-etts and the Red Hat Society.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan-Lea (Charles) Skuhr, Oro Valley, AZ; sons, Barry Stuart (Linda) Campbell, Aiken, James Lewis Campbell, Jacksonville Beach, FL; grandchildren, Nathan (Margaret) Campbell, James Campbell, Courtney Campbell, Clay (Stephanie) Campbell, John (Jesse) Campbell, and Bian (Kelly) Bushloper; great grandchildren, Scott, Drew, and Chloe Campbell, and Madison, Cameron and Nicholas Bushloper.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Gordon Campbell, and a brother, Trabert R. Ahrens.

A private committal service will be held in the St. Johns United Methodist Church Columbarium at a later date.  The service will be broadcast live on the Shellhouse Funeral Home Facebook on Saturday, March 20, at 11:00 AM. (https://www.facebook.com/srfhandsfh)

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the St. Johns United Methodist Church Ramp Fund, 104 Newberry St. NW, Aiken, SC 29801.
