AIKEN, SC – RICHARD ANTHONY BUCKSHAW, 81, beloved husband of Bonnie Buckshaw, passed away unexpectedly, Monday, August 29, 2022 at his residence.
A native of Indiana, PA, Richard was a son of the late John Robert and Madeline Pecarie Buckshaw. He was a firefighter with the City of Dearborn Heights Fire Department, retiring after 24 years. He loved cooking meals for his fellow firefighters at the fire station. He and his wife moved to Aiken, SC and ran Richard’s Draperies Blinds and Shutters from 2006 until 2011. They then moved to Hendersonville, NC. While in Hendersonville, Richard was an active member of First Baptist Church working in the food ministry. He was a volunteer for 10 years with Interfaith Assistance Ministry in Hendersonville. Richard and Bonnie recently returned to Aiken and are members of Talatha Baptist Church. He was an avid golfer and fisherman. He was a former member of the Paul Bunyan Club in the upper peninsula of Michigan.
Survivors, in addition to his wife of 33 years, Bonnie, include three children, Rich, Jr. (Brenda), Dawn and Amy (Dana); two sisters, Donna Eskelinen (Jerry), Mary Konkel (Dave), Jack Buckshaw (Vonda), Dennis Buckshaw (Terri). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Scott.
