Richard Allen Mason, Jr.

AIKEN, SC – RICHARD ALLEN MASON, JR., 84, beloved husband of Joan McGraw Mason, passed away Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Prisma Health Baptist Parkridge Hospital in Columbia.

A native of Pittsburgh, PA, Richard was a son of the late Richard Allen and Eva Smith Mason.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.  Richard worked in sales most of his life.  He then lived in Cape Coral, FL and owned and operated A.M. Lawnscaping for 20 years.  He and Joan moved to Aiken 15 years ago and owned and operated Found Treasures on Banks Mill Road.  He was a Mason and a Shriner.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of 58 years, Joan, include three daughters, Renée Mason, Toledo, OH, Leigh Ann Tolbert, Fredrick, MD, Jeannine Pariseau (David), Aiken; five grandchildren, Nicholas Tolbert, Bailey Feldstein, Mason Feldstein, Peyton Stramel, David Pariseau II; a sister, Carol McCabe, Melbourne, FL; a brother, James Mason, Pittsburgh, PA; a sister-in-law, Jean Greenwald, Aiken; a niece, Kelly Cornelius, Aiken.

According to his wishes, no service is planned.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org) or Shriner’s Hospitals for Children (lovetotherescue.org).
