Richard Wayne Reeves

RICHARD WAYNE REEVES, 76, passed away Tuesday afternoon, October 8, 2024 in his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the cherished husband of Linda Charpia Reeves, with whom he shared 57 wonderful years of marriage.

A native of Charleston, SC, Richard was a son of the late Bernard and Thelma Meyers Reeves. He proudly served his country as a Senior Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force in Vietnam. Richard moved to Aiken in 1984. He became an active member of Foreman Memorial Baptist Church in New Ellenton, serving as a Deacon, formerly as Chairman. He retired from AGY. He later worked for the Corps. of Engineers at Petersburg Campground. Richard faithfully served on mission trips with his church. He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Linda; two sons, Daniel Reeves (Michelle), Jason Reeves (Carey), all of Aiken, four grandchildren, Dani Reeves, Drew “Little Bit” Tuttle, Jessie Reeves, Christian Reeves; two great-grandsons, Rowan and Elijah; his sister, Bernadine Carter, Charleston. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three brothers, Bernard, Ronald and Bascom.

The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon, October 15th beginning at 1 o’clock at Foreman Memorial Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 2 o’clock. Pallbearers will be Christian Reeves, Chris Glover, Christian Tuttle, Phillip Byrd, Kyler Diaz and Robert Grigsby. Interment will be Wednesday morning, October 16th at 10 o’clock in Beaufort National Cemetery with Military Honors.
