Robert "Bob" E. Holt

WARRENVILLE, SC – ROBERT E. “BOB” HOLT, 62, beloved husband of Freda Grover Holt, passed away, Saturday, February 26, 2022, at his residence.

Born in Weymouth, MA, Bob was a son of the late Thomas G. Holt and Sandra Lee Meserve.  He lived many places as a child due to his dad serving in the U.S. Air Force.  He lived with his mom and brother in the Boston area where he, in addition to working to meet his responsibilities as a son and later as a dad, followed his passion as a musician, playing bass and singing.  Bob was in numerous bands in Massachusetts and built a strong bond with his fellow band brothers.  He moved to Warrenville in 2000 to take care of his mom who had become ill.  He worked at Rieter Automotive until March 2007.  Then with Carolina Carpentry and later with M & R Restoration doing floor restoration at the VA Hospital in Augusta, GA.

He married Freda Grover Holt, March 3, 2007, and shared their life amongst family and friends.  Bob shared his love of music with the CSRA as the bass player and vocalist with Bad Habits, Road Work, Strange Brew and Reverse Effects.

Preceded in death by his mom and dad, Bob is survived by his wife, Freda; son, Eric (Danielle) Holt; daughter, Katie (Jeff Moore) Holt; daughter-in-love, Samantha Spencer, Fayetteville, NC; brother, James Michael Holt, North Augusta; ten grandchildren; many band brothers in Massachusetts and South Carolina and a host of friends who became his extended family.

The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon, March 2^nd beginning at 4 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home.  A memorial service will be held at 5 o’clock.
