Robert "Bob" H. Sharpe

AIKEN, SC - ROBERT H. “BOB” SHARPE, JR, age 90, of Aiken, entered into rest Thursday morning May 3, 2018.

Born November 15, 1927 in Baxley, Georgia, he was the son of the late Robert H. Sharpe, Sr. and Kitty R. Sharpe. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army.

Bob loved gardening, hunting and the serenity of riding and walking in the woods. He was a vendor at the Aiken County Farmers for about 50 years selling fresh produce that he grew in his garden.

He was a former employee of Owens Corning Fiberglass, and also worked for DuPont at the Savannah River Site.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Barbara Zenith Sharpe of sixty-two years; two sons Andy Sharpe (Brenda), Aiken, SC and Marc Sharpe (Debbie), Aiken, SC; a daughter Becky Risher (Jeff), Aiken, SC; six grandchildren, Bobby Sharpe, Ashton Sharpe Swearingen (Nicholas), Jonathan Sharpe, Matt Risher, Jeremy Risher and Caleb Risher; two great grandchildren Chesnee and Chandler Swearingen; a brother Jimmy Sharpe, Hazlehurst, GA.

A memorial service will be held Monday afternoon, May 7^th at 2 o’clock at St. John’s United Methodist Church with The Revs. Dr. Tim McClendon and Nancy Reed officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in Ward Hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be directed to St. John's United Methodist Church, Aiken, SC.
