AIKEN – Mr. Robert “Bobby” Lee Cato, 85, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2018. Bobby was born in Trenton, SC, a son of the late Hubert and Myrtle Carpenter Cato. He worked in sales for United Insurance Company of America for 42 years, was in the SC National Guard for 27 years, and was a member of Memorial Baptist Church where he was active in many areas of the church. He loved kids and loved watching the Clemson Tigers and Atlanta Braves. He is survived by his beloved wife, Carolyn McDaniel Cato; a daughter, Beverly Cato (Rusty) Lee, Greensboro, NC; special daughter in law, Jeannie Cato, Aiken; grandchildren, Chad Cato, Chase (Stormee) Cato, Maggie Lee, Cole (Karla) Lee; great grandchildren, Kayson and Sawyer Cato, and Meredith Lee; a sister, June Covar, Edgefield, SC. In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by a son, Tony Cato, two brothers, and two sisters. The memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Memorial Baptist Church with the Reverend Charles Jenkins officiating. There will be a reception in the Family Life Center following the service for friends to visit with the family.
