Robert G. Grimley

On Friday June 10^th, 2022, Robert Grimley passed away at the age of 81.

Robert was born on July 11^th, 1940, in Chicago, IL to parents James and Mary Grimley. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Illinois with a degree in Accounting in 1962, where he was a member of the Phi Kappa Theta fraternity. Bob’s career in the financial world spanned 50 years until his retirement as CFO of Duo-Fast Inc. in 2001. Bob also served his country with the Air Force National Guard.

Robert Married Luana Howells on July 2^nd, 1972, and they raised two sons and a daughter. After years in the Chicago area, Bob and Luana retired to Aiken, SC.

Robert had a passion for sports. He enjoyed playing in his youth and was a collegiate football player for the University of Illinois-Chicago for two years. He coached both of his sons’ Little League teams and was an avid fan of all Chicago teams, especially the Chicago Bulls. He also enjoyed traveling. From cruises to safaris, he visited the world with Luana, family and friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his loving wife Luana, his father James, his mother Mary, his brother Jim, and sister Sandy.

Robert is survived by his sons Chris (Cheryl), Josh (Ja Hae), daughter Carolyn, three grandsons Jackson, Will and Jihan, his sister Ann and several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Liturgy will be held Saturday morning, July 2nd at 11 o'clock at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home.
