Robert Charles Rordam

AIKEN, SC – ROBERT CHARLES RORDAM, 80, beloved husband of Jane Lilley Rordam, died Tuesday, January 29, 2019.

     A native of New Orleans, LA, Bob was a son of the late Ragnvald Bering Rordam and Audrey Bastian Rordam.  He graduated from LSU with a BS in Petroleum Engineering and then began a 36-year career with Texaco.  During his career he lived in Louisiana and New York, traveling all over the Middle East negotiating contracts for the company.  His last assignment was in Indonesia for five years before retiring as a Division Vice President in 1995.  He and Jane moved to Aiken in 1996.  Bob was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Augusta where he was a member of the choir.

     Survivors, in addition to his wife Jane, include three daughters; Mary Shelley Hannah (William), Zurich,Switzerland;, Beth Rordam (Michael Mullins), Mt. Kisco, NY; Carolyn Rordam (Dudley Gibberson), Warner, NH; five grandchildren, Robert Hannah, San Francisco, CA, Christan Hayter (Chris), Brisbane, Australia, Alex Hannah, London, UK, Joshua Tse, Mt. Kisco, NY, Bering Tse, Zaragoza,Spain; two sisters, Patricia James (Paul), Baton Rouge, LA, Lynn VanAtta (Bob), West Pitic, AZ. 

     A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held at a later date at St. Pauls’s Episcopal Church, Augusta, GA.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Habitat for Humanity, (www.habitataiken.org).
