Ronald "Ronnie" Greer

AIKEN, SC - RONALD KEITH GREER, 63, passed away Saturday, August 7, 2021 at ContinueCare Hospital at Palmetto Health Baptist, Columbia, SC.

A native and lifelong resident of Aiken, Ronnie was a son of Ruby Gardner Greer and the late William Henry Greer.  He graduated from USC Aiken and worked for SRNS at the Savannah River Site.  Ronnie was a member of Millbrook Baptist Church.  He was a member of the USC Alumni Association and was an avid Gamecock fan.

Surviving are his mother, Ruby; a sister, Cathy Murdaugh (Ed); a brother, Kevin Greer (Terry), all of Aiken; two nieces, Melissa Viola (Mike), Caitlyn Palmer (Mitch); two great-nieces, Avery and Emersyn Palmer; three great-nephews, Connor and Jackson Viola and Landon Palmer.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening, August 12^th from 6 until 8 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be Friday morning, August 13^th at 10 o’clock at Millbrook Baptist Church with The Rev. Dr. Stephen Cannon officiating.  Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.  The service will be livestreamed at (https://www.facebook.com/srfhandsfh).  In honor of Ronnie, the family asks those attending the funeral to wear garnet and black or their favorite college colors.

Pallbearers will be Jan Bennett, Keith Wicker, Chris Fulmer, Jimmy Gardner, Mike Viola, Tony Kinsey.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Woodie Chavis, Kirk Hollingsworth, The Ultimate Tailgaters and Ronnie’s SRNS work family.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of U.S. Renal Care and the staff at ContinueCare Hospital at Palmetto Health Baptist.
