Aiken – MSG Ronald James Karpinski, US Army, Retired, 89, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2022. Ronald was born in Cleveland, OH, son of the late Stanley Joseph Karpinski and Susan Gecha Karpinski. He joined the US Army in 1951. He served two tours in Vietnam. He and his wife, Kaethe Karpinski, moved to Aiken in 1985 from Neptune, NJ. He is survived by his daughters, Wanda (Billy) Garrett, Wagener and Sandra (Frank) Reddington; son in law, Edward Kilgus, Williston; grandchildren, Leslie Fleming and Dominick DeDonno, step-grandchildren, Billy Garrett and Brian Garrett; a number of step great grandchildren and a step-great great grandchild. His brother Donald Karr (deceased), Jean Karr (wife), and their families live in California. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kaethe Blendinger Karpinski; a son, Ronald Stanley Karpinski, and a daughter, Susan Ogburn Kilgus. A graveside service, with Military Honors, will be held at 11 am on Saturday, October 8th in Southlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to The American Cancer Society.
