AIKEN, SC - Ronald Harold Krenta, age 84 died peacefully after many years of heath struggles at home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in 1937 in New Jersey to Katherine (Haug) and Joseph Krenta, he was married to his loving wife Dolores Krenta for 39 years and after both working in the New York and New Jersey metropolitan areas they moved to Aiken South Carolina to semi-retirement in 1998 where they lived amongst many good friends in Cedar Creek enjoying the good life.
Ron, a lifetime creative artist retired from ITT Defense Division with secret clearance as a technical artist and continued his artwork in Aiken, becoming a well-known pen and ink artist, creating drawings of all the historic buildings in the Aiken historic district and donating them to the Cancer Center in addition to drawing many Cedar Creek and other Aiken homes for residents. He was also well known for his pen and ink notecards sold in local stores and his art was also shown in the Aiken Center for the Arts at a special art event.
In addition to his wife Dolores, Ron leaves sisters Kathleen Gubitosi of Pennsylvania, Deborah (Mike) Roehrer of New Jersey, Sister-in-law and brother in law Carole and Peter Fullen, Florida, Sister-in-law Anne Berberich, New Jersey and Brother-in-law Ron Berberich, Pennsylvania along with many nieces and nephews. His son, Ronald John pre-deceased him.
A funeral mass will be held Saturday morning, April 2nd at 11 o'clock at the old St. Mary Help of Chirstians Catholic Church on Park Ave..
