AIKEN, SC – SANDRA ANTLEY HERRICK, 75, died Sunday, September 3, 2017 in Aiken Regional Medical Centers following a sudden illness. A native of Orangeburg, SC, Sandra was a daughter of the late Elvin Liston and Lois Baltzeger Antley. She lived most of her life in Aiken. She taught school at St. Angela Academy and retired as a guidance counselor with the Aiken County Public Schools at LBC Middle School. Sandra was active in the Aiken community. She was a Vice Regent of the Trenton Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a docent at the Aiken County Museum and was a founding member of the Bibliophiles Book Club in 1998. She was a member of the board of directors of the Greater Aiken Estates Neighborhood Association. She was a driving force in the efforts to continue the Aiken Memorial Day Parade. Sandra will also be remembered as a frequent contributor to the Aiken Standard with her Letters to the Editor. Survivors include her two daughters, Rita Herrick and Shannon Mayes (Danny), of Aiken and two grandchildren, Morgan Mayes and Ryan Mayes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Herrick. A Celebration of Sandra’s Life will be Monday evening, September 18th at six o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home with The Rev. Grant Wiseman officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
