Sandra DeWitt Jackson

March 4, 1947 — April 12, 2021

Aiken – Mrs. Sandra DeWitt Jackson, 74, passed away Monday, April 12, 2021, surrounded by her family.

Sandra was born in Orangeburg, SC, a daughter of the late John Bertrum DeWitt and Verita Sandifer DeWitt.  She moved to Aiken in 1957. She was a graduate of Aiken High School class of 1965.  After high  school she moved to Columbia, SC and was graduate of Cosmetology School. She retired from SmithKline-Beecham Pharmaceuticals in 2006. She was a former member of Levels Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. She was a current member of Millbrook Baptist Church.

Holidays was a special time that Sandra always looked forward to each year.  Not so much for herself but always to make it extra special for family and friends.  She would spend weeks prior to Christmas decorating every nook and cranny.  When her children were younger, they would tell you they lived in the Griswold house.  But when Christmas arrived there were no complaints because the house would be filled with homemade candies, cookies, and cakes to be enjoyed after a large Christmas meal.  Although she enjoyed the pageantry of Christmas, she made sure everyone was aware of the true meaning of this day.  The birth of our Savior. Sandra was a great cook and enjoyed helping her church provide meals for families during times of sickness and death.   Sandra also loved to do crafts.   She made beautiful flower arrangements and loved to make jewelry.

Sandra and Donald’s love for each other was evident to everyone that ever met them. They were always together and loved to travel. When Sandra became ill in 2019, her one and only true love provided love, care, comfort and peace for her.

Sandra is survived by her loyal and loving husband of 52 years, Donald Jackson; daughters, Kimberly Jackson (Daniel) Reeves, Aiken, Donna (fiancée Keith Beltz) Jackson, Aiken; son, Don Jackson, Jr., Aiken; grandchildren, Dani Reeves, Drew Reeves, and Presley Bennett; sister, Joyce Pearson, Trenton, SC; brother, Mar DeWitt, Cayce, SC

She was preceded in death by a brother, James Thurston “J.T.” Hollar.

The family would like to thank Helping Hands Hospice for their love and care over the past few months. We would like to thank Brittany, Kristen, Mary, Sabrina, and Pastor Gibson.
