Sara Ramsey Poston Sikes

NEW ELLENTON, SC – SARA “SALLIE” RAMSEY POSTON SIKES, 76, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2022, in her home surrounded by her loving family.

Sallie was born August 19, 1945, in Winnsboro, SC.  She was a daughter of the late Jean and Roberta Ramsey.  She earned an Associates Degree in Accounting.  She married the love of her life, Morse William “Bill” Poston July 1, 1968.  She moved to New Ellenton in 1969 when she accepted a job with DuPont at the Savannah River Plant.  After thirty years, she retired from the Savannah River Site.  Bill passed away November 6, 1976, and she later married William “Bill” Glynn Sikes in December 1984.  After retirement, she spent her time with kids, grandchildren and family.  She loved traveling, baking, planting flowers and volunteering wherever she could including Southern Baptist Disaster Relief, Corinth Baptist Church and the New Ellenton Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.  She was a dedicated member of Corinth Baptist Church and a former member of the New Ellenton Lions Club.

Survivors include her daughters, Kimberly Williams (Dennis), LeeAnn Kephart (Steve), stepchildren, B.B. Lott, Tuckie Poston (Susan), Beth Blackwell, Glynnis Kemp; grandchildren, Timothy Poston (Haylie), Bryce Poston, Brandon Poston, Ashley Humphries (Robert), Aliah Kemp, Trent Kemp, Macey Williams, Jackson Williams; step grandchildren, Jessica Kemp, Roxxie Kemp, Eric Kemp; siblings, Jeannie Montgomery, Lizzie Hefner (Pete), John P. Ramsey, Ann Keever, Chris Ziegler (Larry), Jayne Robertson (Johnny).  She also loved her nieces and nephews, extended family and friends and her caregivers, Charlie and Sonya.

In addition to her parents, and husbands, Sallie was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Harsey, brother, Wayne Ramsey, stepdaughter, Sherry Moseley.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening, March 26^th from 6 until 8 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be Sunday afternoon, March 27^th at 3 o’clock at Corinth Baptist Church with The Rev. Brancie Stephens officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Timothy Poston, Bryce Poston, Brandon Poston, Robert Humphries, John Ramsey, Phillip Ramsey.
