AIKEN, SC – Mrs. Sharon Elaine Brown, 78, widow of the late John Aulston Brown, passed away Monday, February 15, 2021. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, February 20, 2021 at the Shellhouse Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tracy Gregory officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be private. Born in Hazelton, PA, Sharon was a daughter of the late Charles Drasher, Sr. and Olga Weida Drasher. Sharon and her husband John lived in many places on the eastern shoreline but ultimately settled in Aiken in 1977, where they opened up a small engine repair shop on Hwy 1. She worked alongside her husband there for 25 years. After her husband retired, she was employed in the medical department of the Aiken County Jail and got to work closely with her daughter. Sharon loved to cook and was amazing at it. She valued having dinner time together as a family. Spending time with her family is when she was happiest. She also enjoyed a good casino trip, gossip magazine, and soap operas. She loved playing and snuggling with her little dog, Bud. She was known to her family as being incredibly tough and resilient. They will miss her greatly. She is survived by her two children, Cathy (Mark) Cumbee, Aiken, John Brown, Jr., Aiken; granddaughters, Tiffany (Lindy) Morris, Cassie Carson; Grandsons, Anthony Rienzo and Cameron Cumbee; four great-grandchildren, Sophia Carson, Carson Rienzo, Adalind Morris, Everly Morris; one brother, Charles (Linda) Drasher, Jr., Baltimore, MD; two special nieces, Becky Gregory, Sarie Miller and her beloved dog, Bud.
