Born in Sylvania, GA on July 23, 1952, Sherry grew up in Sylvania, Augusta, GA, Columbia, SC, and Hilton Head Island. Sherry attended Sullins College in Bristol, VA. She met her husband, Hugh, on Hilton Head Island, where they lived until they moved to Aiken in 1976.

Sherry had a successful career in real estate. She loved working with buyers and sellers, in addition to her family business.

Sherry was an avid animal lover. She was on the board of directors of the SPCA for years and loved planning fundraisers for local charities.

Sherry’s true passion was her dogs and horses. She spent many years riding in The Hitchcock Woods, where she taught her daughters to ride, as well.

Sherry was a loyal friend to many. Lovingly known as “Baby Sister” by her closest friends, she often recalled fond memories of traveling and planning parties with her fun group.

When she wasn’t riding or walking with her dogs, Sherry was an avid gardener. She was famous for her green thumb and truly exquisite floral arrangements.

Sherry truly was a beautiful person and a loving mother. We are proud to have had Sherry as our mother, who instilled in us values and strength. We will never forget her loving and fun ways. She truly was a best friend.
