Stanley David Barnhill

AIKEN, SC – STANLEY DAVID BARNHILL, 84, husband of the late Emily F. Barnhill, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2022 at NHC Healthcare, North Augusta.

     A native of Brittons Neck, SC, Stanley was a son of the late Ole Evan and Mattie Richardson Barnhill.  He was the owner of Barnhill Decorating Center.  He was well respected for his creative window treatments and upholstery skills.

     Stanley loved the outdoors and was an avid bicyclist.  He enjoyed hiking, especially the Appalachian Trail. Even at NHC he spent his time outside finding creative ways to continue to exercise.  Stanley was a man of strong Christian faith and had served on mission trips to Honduras and Russia.  He was a member of Living Hope Fellowship.

     Survivors include his daughter, Hope Paradise (Tommy), Aiken; grandchildren, Joshua Hawes, Ariel Hawes, Sean Barnhill, Chris Barnhill, Nicholas Barnhill, Nathanial Barnhill; sisters, Charlotte Cherry, Knoxville, TN, Hazel Adams, Colorado City, CO, Lonita Spivey, Charleston, SC; and six great grandchildren.  In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael David Barnhill; eight sisters, Louise Smoak, Irene Richardson, Thelma Jordan, Lora Richardson, Margie Skipper, Alda Jordan, Virginia Jordan, Miriam Barnhill and three brothers, O.E. Barnhill, Gilbert Barnhill, Carroll Barnhill.

     The family will receive friends Friday afternoon, June 3^rd beginning at 1 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home.  The funeral service will follow at 2 o’clock  Interment will be in Southlawn Cemetery.
