The Honorable Probate Judge Sue H. Roe

Aiken – The Honorable Probate Judge Sue H. Roe, 77, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2021.

Sue was born in White Pond, SC, a daughter of the late Samuel and Susie Webb Hair.  Prior to being elected Probate Judge for Aiken County, she served as a clerk in the Clerk of Court’s office, later becoming the Aiken County Clerk of Court, then Probate Judge. Beyond her many professional accomplishments and contributions to the community, she will be remembered for her love of family and friends, and all of God’s creatures, great and small.  Those who admired the blossoms in her yard would have heard her reply, “It’s not mine, but mine to care for and show others the beauty God gave us to share.”

Sue is survived by her daughters, Wendy Roe Goodwin (Gary), Aiken, and Deanna L. Roe (Ed Olivares), Denver, NC; her “chosen daughter”, Brenda Hughes (Rick); three grandchildren, Jason Goodwin (Brande), Justin Goodwin (Erica), and Jessica Hughes; four great grandchildren, Trevor Goodwin, Kylie Goodwin, Emma Neal, and Mackenzie Neal.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Albrecht Center for Animal Welfare in Aiken.

Due to COVID 19, a service will not be held at this time.
