Sue Toole Wren

Sue Toole Wren, age 70, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Sue faced her long and courageous battle with cancer with remarkable strength and grace.

A native of Belvedere, SC, Sue was a daughter of the late Henrietta Portwood Wilson and Willie P. Toole. She retired from the Rural Development Administration’s Aiken office as a loan officer. Known for her nurturing spirit, Sue was a devoted mother and grandmother, as well as a treasured friend to many. Her passion for gardening and her fondness for Edisto Island were integral parts of her life.

Surviving is her son, Jeremy Wren (Amber); her daughter, Katherine Reed (Ian), all of Aiken; two granddaughters, Logan and Avery Wren; her brothers and sisters, Leslie Winter (Lori), Grovetown, GA, Ann Turner (Larry), Aiken, Gail Lewis, Lexington, SC, Judy Rivero (Rudy), Miami, FL, Marty Toole, Jackson, SC, Billy Toole, Aiken. Sue is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends Tuesday morning, December 17th beginning at 11 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home. A Celebration of Sue’s Life will follow at noon in the funeral home’s chapel officiated by The Rev. Ronnie Powell.
