Mrs. Suzanne S. Rutkowski Fitzgerald, 94, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2025.
Suzanne was born in Toledo, OH, a daughter of the late William and Salome Kolaski Rutkowski. She had been a resident of Aiken for over 40 years, and communicant of St. Mary help of Christians Catholic Church, Aiken. She was an avid bridge player, and loved her church and bridge friends. She also enjoyed keeping up with all of her grandchildren and their activities
She is survived by her daughters, Marysue (Tony Ghiaciuc) Cardenas, Nancy (Gary) Easton, and Lori George; and her son, Michael (Jan) Fitzgerald; nine grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Fitzgerald; sisters, Dorothy Bielski and JoAnn Stachowicz; and a brother, Alvin Rutkowski.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Old St. Marys Church with the Very Reverend Richard C. Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends after the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the St. Marys Catholic School.
