Timothy Frank Boerste

COLUMBIA, SC – TIMOTHY FRANK BOERSTE, 26, passed away, Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at his residence in Columbia, SC.

      A native of North Augusta, SC, Timothy was a son of Michael Stephan and Mary Bess Sorrell Boerste. 

     He graduated with honors from Augusta Christian Schools, Augusta, GA.  His senior year in 2011 he was named Student of the Year.  He graduated Cum Laude with a BS in Business Administration (accounting) from USC-Aiken. 

     Timothy moved to Columbia in 2016 and worked as an auditor with the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.  He was studying to earn his designation as a Certified Internal Auditor. 

    He was a former member of Aiken Church of Christ and was currently a member of Palmetto Church of Christ in Columbia.  Timothy earned a green belt in karate.

    Surviving, are his parents, Michael and Mary of North Augusta; paternal grandmother, Anneliese Boerste, Modoc, SC, maternal grandfather, James Sorrell (Joann), Martinez, GA; aunt, Margie Ann Fischer, Atlanta, GA; uncle, Danny Sorrell (Tammie), Jackson, TN.  He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Maurine Gordon Sorrell and his paternal grandfather, Francis Joseph Boerste.

    The family will receive friends Thursday evening, April 18^th from 6 until 7 o’clock at Aiken Church of Christ followed by the funeral service at 7 o’clock.

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Palmetto Church of Christ for the Honduras House Build in Tim’s honor (palmettococ.com).
