Virginia Rose Studebaker

Virginia (Penny) Rose Studebaker passed away at home on October 4, 2023 at the age of 83 following a short illness.

 

Penny was born on November 23, 1939 in Terre Haute, IN, a daughter to Ralph and Rita Brokaw. She

retired from BP/Amoco Polymer in 2002. She studied Interior Design and was a talented arts and

crafter. Through the years, Penny had many vocations and worked diligently at whatever she set her

mind to. She was a pharmacist tech, a volunteer for the Red Cross where she worked in the maternity

ward at St. Joseph Hospital. She served in the United States Army from 1958 – 1960. Penny was a

member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Aiken, SC.

 

No one who met Penny will forget her love of card playing, making everyone feel welcome in her

presence and home, competitive spirit, love of cooking, ability to tell a story, sense of style, home

decorating and sewing. There was little she could not do or did not do well. She was a wonderful wife,

mother, and grandmother. Her greatest pleasure was caring for those she loved.

 

Surviving with her husband, Don, are her three children, Brenda Tindle, Chuck Woody (Cindy), Missy

Wirthlin (Doug), thirteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

 

A celebration of life service will be held on November 4, 2023 at 2:00PM at Trinity United Methodist

Church, 2724 Whiskey Road, Aiken, SC 29803.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Trinity UMC Missions Fund.
