VIVIAN H. TATE, widow of Earl R. Tate, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2024, in her home in Cumberland Village.
A native of Nashville, TN, Vivian was a daughter of the late John B. and Lillie Gotto Yelton. She made her home in Aiken since 1955 and retired from DuPont at the Savannah River Plant after 30 years. She was a longtime member of St. John’s United Methodist Church and the Katie Williams Sunday School Class. She formerly volunteered at the Aiken County Museum.
Vivian was preceded in death by her husband Earl and son Michael Warren Tate.
A memorial service will be held Friday afternoon, January 12th at 2 o’clock at St. John’s United Methodist Church with The Revs. Dr. W. Timothy McClendon and Grayson “Butch” Blackwell officiating. Inurnment will be in the church’s columbarium.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. John’s United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 809, Aiken, SC 29802.
Friends and extended family would like to thank the staff and residents of Cumberland Village for helping make her last 16 years pleasant and comfortable. They would also like to thank the staff of Right at Home and Gentiva Hospice for their compassionate and professional care.
