AIKEN, SC - Mr. William "Bill" McCall, beloved husband of Cynthia McCall, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2017 at his residence. A native of Nashville, TN, Bill was a son of the late William F., Sr., and Ruby Hovious McCall. He graduated from Aiken High School in 1961. He worked at Owens-Corning Fiberglass where he retired as a process engineer. Bill was a member of St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church. He loved his church and has served as usher and acolyte. After his retirement, he enjoyed working for Habitat for Humanity in the resale store and delivering flowers for The Ivy Cottage. He took a special interest in joining the Aiken Cat Alliance and fed several colonies of feral cats every Saturday morning for two years, rain or shine. He was an avid gardener and was a member of the Aiken Camelia Society. Bill was most proud of his 26 years spent serving the National Guard of SC, retiring as Master Sergeant. Bill is survived by his wife, Cynthia; daughters Stephanie (Tom) Halling, Catherine Baker; grandchildren Alexis (Marc) Lepard, Ethan Baker, Addison Baker and Matthew Halling and his brother John (Camille) McCall, all of Aiken. He was predeceased by his daughter Courtney McCall. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, July 27th from 6 until 8 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home. A memorial service will be Friday afternoon at 3 o’clock at St. Thaddeus Episcopal followed by a reception in the Stevenson McClelland Building.
