William E. Busser

July 21, 1940 — September 8, 2021

AIKEN, SC - William E Busser Beloved husband of the late Karen Busser for 48 years, died Wednesday September 8, 2021 in Aiken SC. A native of Mason, OH, Bill was the son of the late William Busser and Alice Busser. After serving in the Navy, he graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked as an engineer in Centerville OH for several years before moving with his family to Colorado. He got his Master’s in Management while in Colorado and started a career in finance which he continued until his retirement from the Savannah River Site in 2002. After his retirement he became active in local politics in Aiken.

Survivors includes two sons: Robert Busser and his daughter Sophia of Gainesville GA; and Richard Busser and his son, Samuel, and, daughter Sydney of Boulder CO and his best friend and companion of the last several years Joan Jones. Bill was preceded in death by his wife Karen and his brother Robert.

Bill enjoyed visiting family, working in his garden, hunting, fishing and hiking.

A memorial service will be held Friday afternoon, September 17th at 1 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home with The Rev, Dr. W. Timothy McClendon officiating. The service will be livestreamed at (https://www.facebook.com/srfhandsfh).  The family will receive friends following the service.
