William Robert Combs

AIKEN, SC - On June 23^rd, 2021 William (Bill) Combs, age 80 died at his residence in Aiken, SC. He is survived by Judy his loving wife of 57 years, son Dr. W. Bradford Combs and fiancé Jennifer of Aiken, daughter Susan Heil and son-in-law Todd of Atlanta, GA, sister Wilma Marchino and brother Jim. His parents and sister Doris Klasinski preceded him in death.

      Bill was born January 12^th, 1941 to William Clinton Combs and Bernice Brown Combs and spent his childhood in Vincennes, IN. He obtained an AS degree from Vincennes University then a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University. He then joined Caterpillar Inc. where he worked for 33 years in Sales and Marketing. Bill retired in 1996 and relocated with Judy to Aiken in 2001.

      Bill was a sports enthusiast and spent many years involved in Little League baseball and softball in Germantown Hills, IL. He served on the Metamora High School Board of Education for 6 years.

     In his retirement years, Bill enjoyed gardening, his many collections including old bottles, rocks, sea shells, coins, and others. He was a neighborhood handy man helping with many projects which he thoroughly enjoyed.

      There will be no visitation or funeral as per the family’s wishes. If you want to honor his life, please make a donation to your favorite charity or the Lewy Body Dementia Association or the Parkinson’s Foundation.
