William Henry Telford

AIKEN, SC - William (Bill) Henry Telford born in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania passed away on December 28th, 2017 at 89 years old. He is preceded in death by his wife, Irene Wheeler Telford, his daughter Patricia Ann Telford (Manassas, VA), and his brother George Douglas Telford (Torrington, CT). He leaves behind his two daughters, Debbi Freer (Raleigh, NC) and Jennifer Nalepa (Aiken, SC); grandchildren Nick Nalepa (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) and Alena Freer (Raleigh, NC); son-in-law Francis (Chick) Nalepa (Aiken, SC); and sister Emma Roy (Charlton, MA). Bill Telford grew up in Webster, MA. He graduated from high school in Webster, MA, served in the US Army, then attended Worcester School of Business. Bill and Irene married in 1950 and moved to the D.C. area to begin their life together. Bill worked for the C.I.A. until he retired and moved with his wife of 58 years, to Errol Estates, in Apopka, Florida. While working for the C.I.A. Bill and Irene lived in Taipei, Taiwan; London, England and Vienna, Austria. They both loved to travel and enjoyed many trips after retirement. Bill was a devoted and loving husband, caring and proud father and grandfather. Bill loved sports of all sorts but was especially fond of the Boston Red Sox and the Redskins. He enjoyed many years playing golf at Errol Estates in Apopka, FL where he and his wife lived for almost 30 years. Bill never met a stranger and was friendly to everyone. He and Irene were very social everywhere they lived, they loved playing bridge and making new friends. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Bill’s memory to a charity of your choice.
