Winifred Watson Bruce, 102, of Aiken and formerly of Enoree, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Anchor Post Acute Care.
She was born June 9, 1922, in Anderson County to the late Verner T. Watson and Mamie Stansell Watson and was the widow of Douglas W. Bruce. Mrs. Bruce was a graduate of Draughon Business College, formerly in Greenville and was formerly employed in the personnel department with Inman Mills and secretary to the Principal at Woodruff High School. She was a member of Millbrook Baptist Church in Aiken and a former member of Enoree First Baptist Church.
Surviving is one son, Michael Bruce (Debbie) of Aiken; one daughter, Marilyn Littlefield (Duanne) of West Columbia; son-in-law, Stan Mitchell of Seattle, Washington; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Patty Bruce Mitchell, two sisters, Eleanor Griffith and Sarah Tripp and one brother, Arvyn Watson. She was lovingly referred to as “Mom” by all her family and was blessed to have two wonderful caregivers, faithful friends, and wonderful neighbors.
A committal service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 28, 2024, at Graceland East Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 2206 Woodruff Road, Simpsonville, S.C. Entombment will follow in the Praying Hands Mausoleum.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the Millbrook Baptist Church Chapel on East Pine Log Rd. in Aiken, S.C. with a visitation starting at 1:00 p.m.
